Bloomington, St George, Utah Neighborhood Information

Bloomington is a neighborhood within St. George, Utah, city limits. Because the community is so large, locals refer to the area simply as "Bloomington." Those who are not residents or new visitors to St. George may believe Bloomington is a town or a city – however, it is only a neighborhood. It's located on the south side of St. George, bordering the SunRiver area close to Interstate 15.

Bloomington is one of the oldest, more established neighborhoods, offering historical attributes. The area was formerly known as the Town of Atkinville; however, in the 1960's, due to the town's inability to incorporate itself, it became part of St. George. The neighborhood is built in a circular pattern, which surrounds the beautiful Bloomington Country Club Golf Course. There are, however, streets and cul-de-sacs located away from the golf course. This creates a very diverse neighborhood, as you can have a home on the golf course, or perhaps you will prefer to be a distance away from it. Most lot sizes are relatively large at .25 of an acre. There are lot sizes over half an acre, and the "Bloomington Ranches" area offers beautiful homes on lots at or above a full acre. Horse privileges are available in some areas of Bloomington.

The recently renovated Bloomington Country Club Golf Course is an 18-hole par 72 boasting 7,000 -plus yards. Bloomington was the only private member-owned course in the area; however, membership is currently offered to the public. Beautiful mature landscapes and trees surround the course. There is an excellent paved trailhead within the community and two large parks. Bloomington Elementary School is located within the community. The Virgin River splits the community. A bridge over the river serves as one of two ways to access the neighborhood. Often, it's possible to find residents and visitors horseback riding or bike riding in and around the river. Since Bloomington is south of St. George, many residents can ride their off-road vehicles from their back yard directly to the open desert trails, enjoying miles of undeveloped land.

Bloomington real estate possibilities and choices are endless. You can find a reasonably priced older home around 1,600 square feet or a brand new 3,500 (or more) square foot home. There is even a section within Bloomington Gardens that offers townhomes and condos. Some townhomes have golf course views, and some are on the golf course. There are lots for sale that you can build on.

This community has much to offer for the young and old. Overall, the area has always remained a popular destination. Many people are looking to purchase real estate in this community, and many St. George residents and visitors will frequent the area, using the parks, golf course, and trails. Bloomington is conveniently located with easy freeway access, close to local shopping, near the current St George airport, and conveniently located near the exit to the new future St George airport (located approximately 3 miles to the east of Bloomington). Bloomington is also a part of the Dixie Escalante Power Company, which offers some of the lowest power rates in the country.
