Santa Clara, Utah, is a smaller city bordering St George to the West. Santa Clara is a beautiful area with tree-lined streets that bring you right to the Farmers Market corner, which is ideally suited for this nostalgic feel. You’ll expect to see an ice cream cart traveling down the sidewalk! While this is an older, more established area, you’ll still find new homes and luxury homes, even property on large acreage. As with most cities in Southern Utah, the community offers a mix of young families, retirees, and second or vacation homeowners.
The Santa Clara River travels through the southern end before connecting to the Virgin River. The area offers homes and property near the River and view property with spectacular views to the northern red mountains, which is an icon for Utah. There are trails throughout the city, and with only 6,100 residents (2010 census), you’ll find this area to be a bit slower-paced, however still just minutes from St George. The north side of Santa Clara is perched higher atop the bluff and will offer more of the red mountain views towards Ivins. The south side, below Sunset Blvd, is close to the Santa Clara River and can offer southern rolling mountain views.
Be sure to visit the Santa Clara Farmers Market for seasonal fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables. Even if you don’t purchase a home in Santa Clara, it’s worth the drive over! For an adventure, stop by a few marked trailheads; make it a quick walk or an adventurous hike along the river.
